I have been here quite a few times, for emissions, failed once, wasn't surprising though, my car had the service-engine-soon light on. Dont blame the guys if you went there with a faulty engine, thats disingenuous. He is quick and professional. Just sit in the waiting and someone will come to your service, no long wait.

Mr.Jay at Nutmeg Mechanical is a top tier Technician. The best we have in Hartford county. Very Knowledgeable and Advance at his craft, passionate about his work and the customer. I got some work done on my G35 fixing some uncommon issues including a failed subframe and the replacement of the drivetrain. Very thankful for Jay and Nutmeg! I recommend this auto service for all maintenance and repairs in your vehicles!

I'm giving Nutmeg a 5 start rating because of JJ. He was extremely professional, quick and just a decent dude. I highly recommend seeing him when you need your car fixed. I needed my emissions done on my lunch break (I expected to have to Uber back to work) and JJ had me in and out in less than 10 minutes. C'mon now, you can't beat that!

I've been a customer at Nutmeg for twenty years, both for car repair and emissions. I drive across country every few years and my cars have NEVER broken down, I've never had a flat tire, and once when I thought I had a problem with the a/c he explained what to do so I've never even had to go to an unknown garage. The owner, Mike, is rough around the edges but really smart and straightforward. He doesn't sugar-coat his opinion! If you're ever thinking about buying a car, he's the one to consult. I love this place. They've never done wrong by me.

Insanely poor customer service. This is my first time testing here. I parked in the emissions spot and got out the car to go to what I thought was the customer service desk, but then I heard a loud speaker direct me not to leave my vehicle and stay in the car. So I sit in my car and wait and then a man comes over and pulls my unlocked door open and asks me if I’m there for emissions testing. I am already startled by this kind of behavior. Usually people wait for you to roll your window down and speak to you. Then he tells me it’s a 15 minute wait for the test. So I wait with my window down and the door locked so that I am not startled again for when he returns and pulls the door. Mechanic comes back pulls the door and it’s locked. Mechanic informs me through the window it’s $20 and I hand him $100 and inform him I need my change. Mechanic tells me sure no problem and takes the $100 and directs me to the waiting area. After 15 minutes mechanic send in another customer to tell me my car is ready, it’s parked and running unattended. I walk out to my car and the mechanic comes to the door and tells me my $80 in change is in the cup holder, are you kidding me? That’s not how you handle a transaction, the money should’ve been placed back in my hand just as I had given it to him. To add insult to injury, he left the change blatantly open in the cup holder and didn’t even have the decency to roll the window up — so anyone walking by could’ve stashed and grabbed my money. Really disrespectful and inconsiderate. Cannot believe a grown man lacks so much etiquette and common sense

I went to get my emissions done . When I got there it was one car waiting to get emissions and I was next. They came out took the 1st car in. I was next. In the mean while 2 other car came in for emission.. the service guy or mechanic came out and without asking took a person that came in last. I confronted the mechanic and told him that I was next. He look at me and took the guys car anyway. NO GOOD for business. It was a older skinny guy average height. Not to happy with the service.

Well I was going to bring my car here for emissions. I misunderstood the person on the phone and he responded by spelling out the word twenty in a rude manner as if I didn't understand the English language. Yea I'll pass. I'm pretty sure there are more pleasant people to give my money to.
