Fairway Automotive - Kingshighway

It’s really difficult to find a trustworthy mechanic but I feel like we’ve found that in Fairway. It feels like they are always honest with us about what actually needs to be done. Not only that, but they work quickly to get your vehicle back to you fast. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but have had such good experiences here I feel like I need to share.

I wanted to share my recent experience with Fairway Automotive on Kingshighway. While I am typically skeptical when it comes to mechanics, the team completely changed my perspective. Both Nicole and Jim provided outstanding customer service and follow-up, turning my concerns into a highly positive experience. Despite my car having some serious issues, the work was completed to a high standard and at a very reasonable cost. It is clear that integrity, customer care, and price transparency are their top priorities. I will certainly bring my vehicles to Fairway Automotive for any future servicing. If you are looking for an honest and caring mechanic, I highly recommend them.

I don't even know where to start because I seriously cannot say enough good things about Fairway Automotive. Jim, Chip, and Stacy are the kind of people you hope you find when you need work done on your vehicle. They actually listen, they explain everything, they don't talk over you, and I've never once felt like I was being taken advantage of. After Kia overcharged me for what felt like everything, finding Fairway was honestly a blessing. They restored my faith that there are still honest mechanics out there who care more about their customers than squeezing every dollar out of them. Their prices are fair, their customer service is incredible, and they genuinely make you feel like family. I don't call anyone else, and I won't. I’ve trusted this shop with my vehicle for a couple years now, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Their work is always professional, honest, and dependable, but what truly sets them apart is how they treat their customers. A special thank you to Jim. During a particularly stressful time, he and the team showed a level of kindness, compassion, and customer care that I’ll never forget. It’s rare to find people who genuinely look out for others the way they do. Knowing I have a shop I can trust gives me tremendous peace of mind. They have earned a customer for life, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done for me.

Finding a trustworthy auto shop after moving is no small thing, and this team has been absolute gold. They’ve taken amazing care of both our van and our Prius, and every experience has been fantastic. Communication is excellent, the team is incredibly kind and patient, and we’ve never felt anything but welcomed and well taken care of. No pressure, no weird upselling energy, just honest, thoughtful service from people who clearly care. They’ve gone above and beyond for us more than once, and we’re so grateful to have found them. It is not easy to find mechanics I trust, but the team at Fairway have earned trust. They are very transparent in all they do and their technology keeps me up to date at every step. They even send pictures and invite me to call to discuss it with them. Stacey and the team of mechanics are the best at talking me through the process and making sure I know the options. They are not the cheapest…but I don’t really want cheap when someone is working on the second most expensive thing I own.

I brought my suv to this shop from a google review. It was close to home and I had to have my suv towed. They got me fixed quickly, and I like how organized they are. The guy kept me informed as well as the text alerts . If I have another major breakdown I will go back.

Fairway was able to get me in the same day despite being busy. The associates were kind and very professional. The shop is clean and welcoming. The prices for services are VERY reasonable. If you’re looking for a safe, friendly, and local mechanic I would definitely recommend them!

From start to finish, their communication is absolutely top-notch—they keep you updated every step of the way and always provide prices up front for approval, which I really appreciate. No surprises, just honesty. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely care about you and your car. It’s rare to find a place where you feel completely at ease, but Fairway makes that happen. They even provided a loaner car, which made everything so convenient while my vehicle was being worked on. I was forced to drop my car off at Fairway auto when one of my alternator bolts broke off into the engine block, stranding my car in St. Louis during a road trip. Jack at Fairway auto, was happy to take the job and made it clear it should be no problem for his shop and gave an expected turnaround of a few weeks before he could get to it despite it only being a couple hour job. While not thrilled with this news, I understood that I’ve got to wait in the back of the line like everyone else. However, after a month of delays, on July 7th, 2023, Jack (tech @ Fairway) told me his team removed the stuck alternator bolt that was broken off in the engine block that I specifically brought the car in to fix (as well as PAID the labor hours for). Unfortunately, none of that work was done and that was a bold face lie; and I was charged for labor not performed. That bolt was found STILL broken in the block AFTER I picked up the car. (See photo ((Taken after “repairs”) I waited several months, and all summer long to get my car back, and paid Fairway nearly $2,000 only to find out that literally all that was done was installing a serpentine belt.....which I needed to provide detailed instructions to his team for despite the belt diagram being clearly labeled under the hood! Worse yet, I only found this information out because my alternator vibrated itself out of its bracket leaving the shops lack of work on full display for me to see the old bolt was in fact still sheared off in the block and a new bolt was simply used to pinch the alternator to the block but not actually thread in to anything ....so naturally the alternator vibrated loose after some driving. I appreciate that sometimes these sorts of things can happen when a company has a bad apple, (or mechanic) in the mix, so I wrote to the company directly sharing all this info with them and was completely ignored. So, while this isn't worth small claims court for me, I don't intend to do nothing after being robbed of almost $2k and 3 months without my car, so what I will do, is encourage anyone that wants honest work done by reputable mechanics, to AVOID FAIRWAY AUTO AT ALL COSTS!
