About Quick Lube, Inc.

Quick Lube in Provo has served three generations of some families - Scott has worked on their cars for 20+ years. He goes out of his way on DMV paperwork, tells a single mom the real price of a heat repair that others quoted over $3,000, and fits truck repairs around your work schedule. Utah emissions done here too.

The counter culture is blunt: one filter-change decline turned aggressive per a reviewer. No-BS cuts both ways. Rated 4.0 across 261 reviews.

My Dad recommended Scott to me 10 years ago. He had Scott working on his cars for probably 20 years. He has always been great and professional. Scott explains work that is needed for your car prior to and estimated pricing. I have always been satisfied with Scott. Yesterday, I had work done on my car, on my way home, Scott called me to check on how I felt the car was running. I really appreciated that. I highly recommend this business!

Scott the owner went out of his way to save me time on my documentation for the DMV. This place is no BS, they do good work, give you real information, and perform accurate/honest testing and emissions.

I am a single mom and have been told to fix the heat in my car was over $3,000. I stopped by to Quick Lube to have my emissions done and they were so nice and asked them about my heater and they said no problem we can fix it, so I took it back and sure enough they went above and beyond to get it fixed and the price was completely affordable. They are very honest and just all around great men! We need more car shops like Quick Lube!!! They are fantastic and I highly recommend going to see them for any car repairs or a simple oil change!

I went to a different mechanic for a weird noise and fluid leaking, they gave me a whole list of things I needed to fix and the minimum they would charge me was $2600… I decided to take the car to quick lube. They got me in next day and fixed everything. The price was much cheaper than the previous mechanic. Scott was very nice and explained everything to me and my dad very well. I feel like he did good work. Take your vehicles here for quick and excellent work, not to mention at a much more affordable price.

A different shop quoted me around $1300 for brake work and front rotors. Scott and the crew got that same work done (ALL my break pads, front rotors, etc) for less than $800. They did it SAME DAY and had the work completed withing a couple hours. Communication was great, service was great, price was great. They also did not pressure me to get/overcharge me for services I did not need. I'm so glad I found this shop and it will be my new go-to for any future car repairs.

Very pushy about getting filters changed. When I said “no” they weren’t going to take no as an answer! The owner Scott became very aggressive in his tone. The mechanics; filled up my tires to 40 PSI! When it should’ve been only 30! I will never take my service here again!

I’ve never had to leave review like this, but I feel obligated to warn people. Scott West is not fit to run a lemonade stand, let alone an automotive shop! I brought my 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid to Quick Lube Inc. for a right-front wheel-bearing replacement. Immediately afterward, the car started making abnormal grinding/rotational noises from the same right-front wheel area that had just been worked on. I brought the vehicle back multiple times for the same issue. They inspected it, adjusted the dust shield, rode in the vehicle with me, acknowledged hearing the noise, and continued assuring me the vehicle was safe to drive. During one of the ride-alongs, statements were made that left me with the understanding that a younger/inexperienced employee had been involved in the work. That was especially concerning because the company publicly advertises ASE-certified and factory-trained technicians. After those repeated return visits and assurances, the vehicle later failed while I was driving on I-15 at highway speed. I heard a loud pop, and the car immediately started violently grinding, vibrating, and throwing sparks from the right-front wheel area. The vehicle became unsafe to operate and had to be towed. I then took the vehicle to an independent ASE-certified shop. According to their written findings, one of the right-front caliper bracket mounting bolts was missing. Their report also documented uncontrolled caliper movement, excessive wheel-bearing play, mechanical instability, and conditions they described as “not consistent with normal wear” and indicative of “improper or incomplete prior installation.” What disturbed me most is that this happened after I repeatedly brought the vehicle back, repeatedly reported the issue, and relied on their assurances before the freeway failure occurred. What started as roughly a $325 repair has now escalated into approximately $3,200 in damages involving towing, diagnostics, wheel damage, corrective repairs, alignment issues, and related expenses. Quick Lube also declined to reimburse even the original repair amount after the failure. We have preserved audio recordings and transcripts of follow-up discussions. In those conversations, statements were made including “my guys failed,” “I might have had error on my part,” and references to possible faulty labor and/or installation issues. Separately, while investigating the business and preparing legal paperwork, I personally verified through Utah Division of Corporations records, Murray City business-license administration records, Utah On The Spot emissions-program listings, and Utah Department of Commerce public records that QUICK LUBE INC. is listed by the State of Utah as inactive and administratively dissolved, with the entity showing a last renewal in 2016 and expiration/status update in 2017. Despite that, the business has continued publicly branding and representing itself as “Quick Lube Inc.” — including on its Google profile, business-license records, emissions-program listings, and other public-facing platforms — while presenting itself to the public as an incorporated business entity. Complaints regarding these issues have also been submitted to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, and the matter is now under investigation. That raised serious concerns for me about transparency, accountability, and consumer safety in addition to the repair issues themselves. People can draw their own conclusions, but based on my experience, the repeated return visits, the freeway failure, the independent ASE findings, the preserved recordings/transcripts, the financial damages, and the business-status discrepancies I later independently verified through government and municipal records, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this shop to proceed very cautiously.

i hate leaving bad reviews. but i've never been treated worse as a young woman. quoted me $250. i asked for a call if that changed. no communication whatsoever, then was charged $500. my car is in worse shape than i dropped it off in, after a week of waiting for my car back. they didn't even fix the weather stripping they said would be a quick easy fix. younger guy smelled of marijuana. just keep driving.

After being a customer with Quick Lube for the past 6 months, I would strongly advise against going here. After my experience, I do not trust the shop or their work. I brought my truck here for the first time in June and had the radiator replaced. Then a month later, the water pump needed replacing, and so I brought it back. Then in August, the radiator busted again and was replaced again, under their warranty. The shop often told me one price over the phone and would charge me significantly more once I showed up to pay. They quoted me for the water pump over the phone at $600. I ended up nearly paying double, as the $600 didn’t include labor or an oil change that was apparently required after the water pump failed. These charges were not communicated to me beforehand. A repeated lack of transparency was very frustrating. I had to bring my truck back in early December because it was leaking coolant again and it nearly overheated. They ran some stop leak to see if that’d fix my issue. Quick Lube had the truck for about 2 weeks. I went to pick the truck up and when I got there, Scott told me he’d lost the keys and that I should come back the next day. I came back the next day. Scott told me that he found the keys but the shop had been broken into a week ago, and my catalytic converter had been cut off. I understand they weren’t liable for this, but Scott did not say anything about this the day before! He told me he lost the keys and to come back the next day, knowing he’d still have to replace the catalytic converter. Whether he lost the keys or not, his lack of communication was suspicious and completely broke my trust in the shop. After getting the truck back, it was taken to another shop. The second shop reported that a fender bolt had been used where a stud should’ve been, the engine block had been drilled into, and a coolant gulley was drilled into! According to the second shop, Quick Lube’s poor workmanship had actually CAUSED the leaks that’d been my problem for months. Based on pricing discrepancies, poor communication, and what another shop documented as improper repairs, I would not recommend this business.
