I’ve been going here for years now. Owners and staff are amazing and super knowledgeable and very transparent. I’ve always had good experiences and they even put in taillights I bought for free one day, and even helped me with a seatbelt issue. And one day the owner rode around with me in the passenger seat to listen to a weird noise my truck was making. The place I’d taken it to before was FATS. I had horrible experience there, one of which they ruined my truck, admitted to it, saying it was a new guy they’d hired that did it and then fired him. But they still made me pay. I’ll never go back to fats. Sand lake auto has my business, they are great!!

Front desk staff very helpful. Mechanic team very helpful and understanding of problems. They let you know when they have availability to get vehicle in. Especially during tire change over season

Brought my Chevy HHR to be serviced and now onto my Chevy Sonic. I’ve even brought my dad in for his truck to be serviced. Very professional, knowledgeable and explains everything in detail. I’ve always appreciated that just the smallest thing of calling in and asking prices is always dealt with respect and never an attitude. You want good service, and real work done without filling cheated in pricing. Sand Lake Auto is where you should always go!

They are not cheap and it may take a while to get in but they have been very straight with me over the years and they know what they are doing. I have had a few things that they didn't get right the first time and they stood by their work and got it fixed. I will go to them for everything but car washes.

Sand Lake Auto has hands down the BEST customer service. I have been taking my vehicles to Sand Lake for over 25 years and will never go anywhere else. This is a fantastic business, and they know how to treat customers. 100% recommend.

Finding a good mechanic is like finding a good doctor or lawyer. Once you do, you stick with them. This is a family owned and operated local business that provides honest, quality automotive services for reasonable prices. All of my interactions with the staff, including the owner have been positive. My vehicles have been repaired well, and in a timely manner. They are also great at communication which is a rare occurrence for a lot of shops and believe me, I’ve dealt with many in my 20+ years of living in Anchorage. If you are in need of a trustworthy, reliable and efficient auto repair shop, this is the one.

I went here to get my car worked on, and the old lady at the front desk was no help. She said that I needed an appointment and that I should call around 9 to see if they have anything available, which I was fine with, but she didn't even care to take down my information or schedule me an appointment, plus the shop was empty with no other customers there, and I got there right when they opened at 7 am....
