About Affordable Transmission & Auto Repair
Affordable Transmission (Boise) rebuilds classic-car clutches with flywheel surfacing and shift-linkage repair in one job, and sorted an '06 Ram 2500 diesel that wouldn't find third gear. Keith's local-shop care beats chain pricing by far, per trucks that left running better than dropped off.
One woman says they assumed she knew nothing and quoted an unnecessary radiator - get a second voice on big quotes. Idaho emissions available in Boise-area counties. Rated 4.4 across 129 reviews.

If you need work done, this is a great place to take your car or truck. I suggest you check them out; itโs a local shop not a chain so they care more about you and their work than most of the big shops. The staff is super friendly, very knowledgeable, and they keep you posted on the issues they identified, cost and approximate repair time. I have had Affordable Transmissions work on several cars in the past and have never been disappointed. I trust the shop more than any dealership I have ever worked with, their honest and the work is preformed quickly while keeping in mind that most of do not have unlimited funds available, so they keep costs down wherever they can.
Keith and crew did an excellent job replacing the clutch and throw out bearing, had the flywheel surfaced and repaired the shift linkage on my classic and completed the job on time. Everything works great!
Truly the best and most honest mechanics around! Thank you Affordable Transmission for our cars 30,000 mile check up!
These guys are awesome!! I have a 06 ram 2500 diesel w/ 6spd manually tranny. Never had a issue until I did. Outta the clear I couldn't shift into 3rd and when I finally got it to shift, it popped outta gear. Went to change the tranny fluid and had a ball bearing sitting on top of the plug (not good). At first we thought we were looking at a new tranny, but these guys are honest and very professional. Turned out my shift tower broke ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ. They searched the USA for a replacement and couldn't find a single one, they immediately called me and discussed a aftermarket replacement. I had my truck back in less than two weeks and she's doing great. It's hard to find honest mechanics, I'm so glad they were recommended to me. I in turn would highly recommend them to any and everyone. Kudos for the great job, honestly and getting my baby back to me in a timely manner ๐
Best priced by far and so far my truck is doing better than when I dropped it off. Experience was pretty decent. I would just always recommend going into any shop with a little bit of knowledge so you don't end up regretting it. Overall they are great and I would recommend for your transmission work.
They may be affordable, to somebody, I guess it depends on who you ask...They thought I was a dumb girl and told me I needed to have my radiator replaced AND needed a rebuilt transmission. A very un affordable ordeal. Needless to say I had new transmission oil cooler lines put in elsewhere and here we are today with the same transmission and the same radiator working fine , no need for replacing. Go figure. ๐ค๐๐
