About Dean Sellers Inc Service

Dean Sellers' service department (Detroit area) has good days - one-day truck turnarounds with shuttle and delivery - and bad ones: a rim-and-tire quote that doubled from $350 to $739, a three-visit battery saga on an 18,000-mile 2022 Edge, and a wrench-light diagnosis that went nowhere.

Great Service. Advisors listen and work hard. I got my truck in and out in one day. The shuttle driver was nice and they delivered the truck back to me at my home. AWESOME!

I brought my 2022 Ford Edge for service three times because the battery keeps going dead. This vehicle only has 18,000 miles on it. After the third visit they said they can't fix it and I'm on my own. I even spoke with Mr. Dean Sellers and he was no help. Stay away from Dean Sellers Ford. 4/17/25 I'm going to edit my review. After talking to Liz Sellers and Dean Sellers the car would not start again at home. I called Liz and she had a loaner brought to my house and the 2022 Edge picked up. They discovered that the battery that was installed in December of 2024 was defective. Liz and Dean went above and beyond to get this issue fixed and I appreciate their efforts. They even had the repaired vehicle dropped back off at my house and the loaner picked up!

I needed a new rim and tire. I requested service on Monday and it was fixed Thursday. Initially I was quoted $350. At some point, the cost went up to $739? It definitely soured my experience greatly.

This was the worst experience of my cars life. I took my vehicle in and describing the issue as being slow to accelerate, putting and the wrench light coming on and going off. The wrench light equals transmission. I was contacted and told the issue was an open circuit and that it would be $750.13 I told them to proceed with fixing the vehicle. The next day I was contacted saying that they fixed that part, the technician took it for a test drive and that it was doing the same thing. I was told that the technician then consulted with the transmission tech who advised that flushing the fluid could work or id need a new transmission for $14,783. This is a 2021 Escape purchased brand new, how is this even possible?! It’s telling me that Ford doesn’t make quality vehicles like they used to that are built to last. Why wasn’t the transmission tech consulted prior to determining the issue. Good business practice is not to tell the customer that one thing will fix their issue and it’s really something else. You present all the facts upfront so a decision can be made. So I’m out of $700+ for something on a car that I may not be able to drive. To top things off I looked at the itemized receipt and the part they fixed cost $25 and the other $600+ was labor! For something fixed within a day. Then the technician tells me that me leaving an unsatisfactory review takes money from his paycheck! What do you think you just did to me?! I’ve been ripped off by what’s supposed to be a reputable company.

Been a customer for a while. Had a few different codes on the dashboard and I took photos of them. Took it to the shop and showed them the photos of the dashboard. The faults still showing in the dashboard. They checked the car and were not able to figure out the problem. Wanted to charge over $200. I questioned it but was still willing to pay and the manager shareek asgarally had told them if i don’t pay don’t bring the car back for service. That’s bad customer service. Not going back just because you should treat customers better.

Came for a tire changeover and they torqued the lug nuts with an impact drill, I had to jump on a 2 foot extension to get them off (~400 lbft of torque). The next time I went my service rep had to leave early and there was no communication regarding the status of repairs after he left. Prices are also on the high side. Not going back.
