The Detroit Garage

The Detroit Garage is always helpful and prompt. They are the only mechanic I use now. Scheduling is easy over the phone or text message. I’ve had my tires replaced, oil changes and other maintenance done. Their pricing is fair and I never feel like I’m being taken advantage of. 10/10 Recommend!

I was visiting family in the Livonia area when the alternator on my 2016 Audi Q5 failed. I got the car in early on a Monday morning. The guys were very professional and courteous. They had the car on the rack quickly and later that morning they gave me a quote. They put in a new alternator and I was back on the road late that day. The check engine light came on shortly after leaving the garage. I returned and 3 guys swarmed the car and had a minor issue resolved very quickly. When I'm back in Livonia if I need auto repair this is where I'm going.

Very reasonable price for full synthetic oil. The Detroit Garage service rep who assisted me was very friendly! He told me a couple of hours for an oil change, tire rotation & air filters. He was accurate with his time assessment. What impressed me, was the documentation that I received with the invoice. This included photos all around, photos of the dirty filters, all tires were photoed, guaged and clearly marked on the treads. I plan on returning.

I've been going to the Livonia location for a couple of years now, great staff, great service, fair pricing. They always take care of my vehicle & my wife, always honest, upfront & respectful to both of us, they have a loaner vehicle available which is harder to find today. You can't go wrong using this shop. Never had a turnaround that was longer than initially quoted either.

In addition, they performed a complimentary multi-point inspection and addressed several other items I asked about at no extra charge. Their honesty and professionalism stood out, and they have earned my trust. I will definitely return for future service. They service vehicles strictly according to manufacturer recommendations and also provide warranty guidance for every vehicle they work on. Overall, an excellent and reliable shop.

Jeremy and his team did an outstanding job. From giving me a ride and pick up from work (very close by) to a thorough assessment of my 2010 Jeep. They provided photos, description, and help me prioritize what tasks requires my attention first and what can wait. Thank you team! I could not have reached this point of peace of mind without you. I had an incredible experience getting my rear struts replaced here! David was amazing—super friendly, professional, and went above and beyond. He got me in quickly and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The price was very fair, and the work was done same day. They even replaced the strut mounts, which no other shop had even mentioned. I really appreciated the thoroughness and honesty. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend them!

David & Jeremy and their shop team have been taking care of me and Betsy (pictured) for several years now. I've gone there for everything from routine maintenance and oil changes to diagnosing and addressing some more serious issues and I've been very happy with their work every time. They're honest, fair, transparent...and they don't price gouge. Pretty much everything you want in a mechanic/car shop. I've referred some folks to them as well and they, too, have had nothing but good things to say. If you're looking for a good, reliable local shop you can trust, look no further!

I took my truck in for a heater core replacement that still under a warranty from where I purchased my truck. Everyone was very polite and professional. The work was done in the time frame they quoted me. The work that was done by the technician was outstanding(thanks). I would of given them 5 stars instead of four if they would of called me with some sort of updates on the process/status. Overall do not hesitate to take your vehicle here.
