I’ve been going to Dowdy’s for 6 years. Once you find a mechanic you trust, you don’t leave. Justin & Ian (and their crew) have always taken care of us. They have honored their warranties, been incredibly honest with what needs repaired versus what can wait, and they have very fair prices.

I can’t say enough positive things about Dowdy’s Automotive Service. Justin has taken care of our vehicles for 14 years now. Recently, I had some brake repairs done at a different shop (Long story) and I was not satisfied with them. Had Dowdy’s review their work and found the other shop had used inferior parts. Dowdy’s replaced the parts and finally the brakes work great. I really appreciate that Justin and his crew listened to me, something most shops do not do. Once you experience their quality work, you will understand. Go now, don’t wait.

Had a great experience at Dowdy's in N. Meridian. Justin and Ivan are true professionals. The mechanics did a great job as well. All repairs were completed in a timely manner and I wasn't asked to have any unnecessary work done. I am completely satisfied and will recommend Dowdy's to anyone looking for a reliable shop for all their automotive repair needs.

My daughter recently moved to the Boise area and had a coolant leak. A friend in the area recommended Dowdy's. Dowdy's Meridian did an engine swap for me on a 2004 Tahoe that had 247K miles on it. They did a fantastic job. They were not the cheapest (nor the most expensive) of the bids I received from area auto shops but their consistently high customer satisfaction and their knowledgeable and communicative staff convinced that they would be in it with me for the long haul should issues arise. Once the Jasper remanufactured long block arrived Dowdy's turned the job around in less than a week. The vehicle runs and drives great. We couldn't be happier. Highly recommend Justin and the crew at Dowdy's.

I had the timing belt replaced on my 2010 Subaru Outback at Dowdy’s Automotive, and these guys were awesome from start to finish. Everyone there was super friendly, explained what needed to be done without any pressure, and kept me updated through the whole process. The car’s running smoother than ever, and the service was done on time with no surprises. You can really tell the team at Dowdy’s cares about doing things right and treating people well. I’ll definitely be going back next time I need work done — they’ve earned my trust.

I seriously NEVER write reviews but feel like I have to! -Extended Travel Cv Axles -Extended Travel Struts/Coilovers -Brake pads and Rotors I have always had trouble finding good trustworthy shops so I would usually just tackle projects on my own or with the help of some friends. But due to the nature of the repairs I needed and the time that I had available doing it myself just wasn’t going to workout so I went online, set up the appointment and dropped my truck off later that day. The online appointment scheduling is extremely user friendly and I was able to put in everything that was going on with my truck. They got back to me the next day with a full online report with notes, recommendations and even pictures. After looking over everything I gave Justin a call and had a very honest conversation about why this happened and what I should do to fix this. I could have gone with the same parts and spent less money but would have ran into the same issues later down the road and Justin very truthfully and honestly said he wouldn’t want me to do that so they recommended upgrading certain components that would help everything last longer and ride better. I obviously spent more money than originally planned or could have by doing it myself but saved money and a headache in the l long run. I can’t thank you guys enough for the great quality and speed. I use my truck for everything and will be going on a week long hunt by the end of the month so we’ll get to see just how much better the truck is now. If you guys are wondering if you can trust Dowdy’s or if they do good work it doesn’t get any better than this. Thanks again for helping me get my truck back on the road and ready to go back into the mountains.

Coming from someone who does the large majority of the work on their vehicles, Dowdy's is wonderful. I know several people that only had good things to say, so I had to give them a shot. This location is one of the only ones with an alignment rack and they did a great job. They were very communicative and even did a complimentary "flash light" inspection, which isn't much, but this gives them the opportunity to find things you may not have noticed. In regard to if they DO find anything, they seemed very reasonable and did not call out anything that did not need to be fixed (they were also very open about these things and not pushy whatsoever). I had them quote me for an issue I already knew about, to which, they were very prompt and the pricing was on par with expectation. Regarding pricing, it is one of the biggest reasons I do most of the work on my vehicles. Their pricing was not cheap by any means, but no auto shops are (and if they are, you're probably going to pay for it later). The staff's overall customer service ability is outstanding and workmanship is great; I can definitely see myself coming back if I can't do any work on my own.
