It was ez and fast for me and I had to go work it took me like 30 minutes

This is the second time I have used Freedom Smog. Both times I was there to get a Star certified smog check. this most recent time I had already been to three other small places you didn't have time to do my smog check. so I was very relieved that they had time to fit me in. They were very friendly and I will be using them again.

Great and super quick service! We got there fifteen minutes before closure and they still took both of our cars and stayed past their closing time just to make sure we were taken care of. Saved a second trip. Highly recommend this Kansas Ave location!

Freedom Smog in Riverbank was very knowledgeable, helpful, and fast. Darius, the young guy behind the counter, presented as much information and facts about smogging an older car up front. I would highly recommend for any smogging requirements.

Came in for a smog check, the owner told me my car did not need a smog check due to its age and type initially. After I mentioned I just bought it in Neveda then he confirmed I needed a smog after all. It was quick, pricing was competitive and his store was pleasant as was his service. Its nice to see businesses who are there to understand the need first, then take your money. Someone else would just smog the car, take the cash and let you figure it out if you needed it or not.

In & Out very quickly, extremely clean business & professional technicians! They also have cool museum artifacts to look at while you wait. Not many businesses are this great and Freedom Smog exceeded the standard!!

In and out in less than 30 minutes! No issues at all with my Corvette being a 1988, passed perfectly on the first try. This is my second car that I’ve smogged with them and I’m just gonna keep coming back. My Acura is due for a smog again in November so I’ll see you soon! Thanks again! 🇺🇸 🫡

Veteran friendly!! I’ve been trying to get my 1991 Honda Civic smogged for 2 weeks now and ever place I called or visited basically gave me the runaround. Either I had to make an appointment or I got a “No we can’t do it” or overpriced me for the smogged, no kidding one place on Hatch quoted me $150. One shop told me their computer broke when I could see another car hooked up and it was running just fine. Got up on Saturday morning knew I had to get this done so I hit the map and called around and on my 3rd try found this place. David the service tech was awesome and professional. He told me to come right in. The wait was about a lil over half an hour but that’s only because there were 3 other customers ahead of me and I was a walk in. Which didn’t bother me at all. I failed the smog due to to idling issues but get this... David said the retest was free and after he found out I was a vet he said “bring it in during the week and he’ll fix the idling to try to get it to pass. Great service all the way and the USMC uniform hanging on the wall in the back belongs to the previous owner. Semper Fi! Updated review: I came back on Monday for the idle issue and sure enough David fixed my problem and helped me get my vehicle smog. I was really at the end of my rope and these guys really helped me out. For those who think they gave me special treatment just because I was a vet they really didn’t. I didn’t even mention I was a vet till I was paying for the initial testing. I am so glad I found this shop.

I went out of my way to get my car smogged here because they support Veterans wish I could say the experience matched that. The guy at the front had an attitude from the start. I didn't realize you're not supposed to drive into the garage yourself your suppose to hand over your keys and they take it from there which is fine, but he explained it like he was annoyed. Which I didn't do it on purpose but that sure ticked him off but I let it go since I was already there. Honestly my regret was not leaving when he reprimanded me like I was a kid or something. He asked for my number to call when the car was ready and told me it'd be about 15 minutes. After 45 minutes with no call, I walked back and found my car already parked and ready. When I asked if he'd tried calling, he said "no, I was busy" still with the same short, irritated tone from earlier. Customer service matters, especially when you're asking people to trust you with their car and their time. This guy could use some coaching on how he interacts with customers. I won't be going back or recommending this place.

I’m an out-of-state veteran trying to register my vehicle in California, so I went to Freedom Smog for help. After a discrepancy on my first visit, I fixed the issue myself and returned with the correct part. The service rep wouldn’t listen and acted like I was trying to bend the rules, even after I explained I was a Veteran just trying to understand California emissions laws. When I said I would take my business elsewhere, he became angry and told me I was no longer welcome. He slammed my hood and While backing my vehicle out, he floored it and made the tires squeal. I went outside and told him that kind of behavior isn’t acceptable in a customer’s vehicle and that he needed to calm down and not let his emotions affect his job. Instead, he argued with me, said customers are never right, and again told me to leave. The white guy with glasses definitely needs to check his emotions while at work and not throw tantrums with Customers and edge on an argument. Definitely felt like he was bothered by Somthing other than work and was just taking it out on me. I do not recommend this place to friends, family, or out-of-state veterans who are just trying to understand California smog rules. This place is no help

I go in to smog my '86 Honda, that has to have it done by a star certified smog. Was told it would cost $128. I asked why so much? He cracks off," because there is so much extra work to do". Yeah, right. I guess plugging in a tube to the exhaust pipe and checking the timing, is so much more to do than your standard plug in and push a button, smog job, that it costs $100 more to smog. Just another way to try and put there final gauch into you, before their put out of business by the feds. Thanks for nothing.

Arrived at 8:50am on Monday. Store was closed despite hours displayed on door stating that the store opened at 8:00am. This business does not respect your time. If you come here, call first because you never know if they’ll actually be open.
