About Krueger's Auto Tech & Tire Center
Krueger's Auto Tech & Tire Center (Wisconsin) does super-fast emissions tests and fairly priced tire sets - George and his team run the courteous small-town operation.
The misses add up: a $700 wheel bearing that clicked on the same wheel afterward, a $560 quote that ran Friday-to-Tuesday, and a too-cold-for-emissions refusal that sent a wife to a competitor. Strong for quick work; document the big jobs. Wisconsin emissions testing. Rated 4.0 across 109 reviews.

Great small town auto repair and tire shop. Went for an emissions test a while back and went back for a set of tires. Fair prices and friendly service.
Krueger's is a courteous, professional mechanic operation....you just gotta love them. George and his team are just fantastic....
Excellent super-fast service and very friendly! I had my emissions test completed promptly, which was a genuine surprise based on past experience at other locations. Based on the large number of vehicles in the shop getting worked on they must be a good place for repair services. Nice waiting room with big screen TV. I give them an A+ and will look to Krueger's Auto when I need service on my vehicle.
Brought my car in for a wheel bearing replacement and paid $700. When I got the car back it was making a rhythmic clicking noise on the same wheel they worked on and the wheel was running noticeably hot — neither of which were issues before the repair. I arranged a tow to get it back to them and called the next morning. They weren’t sure whose car it was despite my keys still having their own tags on them, and told me they may not be able to look at it until Monday. I understand shops get busy but this is their repair, on their timeline, and I’m now without a car I just paid $700 to fix. I’m leaving this at 2 stars for now because I want to give them the opportunity to make it right — I’ll update this review based on how they handle it. A shop’s character shows in how they handle problems, not just the easy jobs.
Too lazy to walk out in the cold to do an emissions test. Man at the counter told my wife to come back on a warmer day. My wife drives to Auto Safety Center on Hwy 60 and they immediately agree to do it. The tech who isn’t too soft to perform the inspection? A middle aged woman. Good on her! WEAK SAUCE Krueger’s!
Went in for work on a warped rotor after a near miss with a turkey. Got it done here as it was local. The service I got done was at the top end of cost, and after it all they tried to upsell me on my front brake hoses needing to be replaced due to "visible bulging", offering to do it for 350$. That quote is also on the high end for the job. I later went to my dealer for other things and asked them to check my brake hoses for me. They saw no damage of note to my brake hoses. This shop tried to scam me and told me if I didn't get it done I risked sudden failure and a need for a tow. Avoid this shop unless you're desperate and know exactly what you need.
Was quoted $560, told the vehicle would be done Friday and was done till Tuesday, rear brakes replaced a year ago and the rear right caliper blew out and rear brakes needed to be done again total costing over $1400 and was not told this till I showed up this am to pick the truck up getting one excuse after another! First off there is no reason I can logically see for rear brakes wearing out after a year when brakes are designed bias to the fronts at 70-80% brake power and 20-30% braking in the rear besides having reused the pads! My brake pedal is still 1/2-3/4 to the floor to get reaction from them!! I took my work truck here due to ability to lift it and this USED TO BE THE ONLY SHOP IT CAME TO UP UNTIL NOW!! Oh and with their “wonderful” brake Inspection they supposedly did, second time driving the truck after getting it back, I now have brake squeal, EVERY TIME THE BRAKES ARE HIT!! DO NOT COME HERE THEY DON’T STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK!!
Went in for an emission test just after 9:00. The guy behind the counter wanted no part of it. He wouldn’t do it unless I gave him the renewal statement. It says right on WIVIP website that you don’t need it. Awful customer service.
