About Kwik Kar Auto Care Center
Kwik Kar Auto Care in Dallas solved the case other shops couldn't - a 2017 Civic eating batteries with a Christmas-tree dashboard got properly diagnosed here, and single women report not getting jerked around on price, Tyler in particular. The shop itself gets called unusually clean and organized.
Two serious disputes: a written quote for both control arms that ended with one done and $600 more demanded to finish, and a fuel injector guess-fest that ran past $900 without fixing the jerk. Big jobs, second quotes. Texas inspections at around $50 last reported. Rated 4.4 across 670+ reviews.
Reported smog check price: $50.00. Prices can change; call to confirm.

Knowledgeable and trustworthy. Didn’t once feel like as a single woman I was getting jerked around or told a crazy price for service. Tyler is great and if I need any work and it’s in their repertoire, I coming here for sure.
Took my car to Kwik Kar and they were solid from start to finish. Fast, professional, and actually knew what they were talking about without trying to upsell a bunch of nonsense. Super easy experience and the customer service was on point. Definitely earned the 5 stars.
I had a 2017 Honda Civic that was having all kinds of issues (A/C blowing hot, dashboard warning lights lit up like a Christmas tree, going through multiple batteries a year, etc), to the point I was having to jump the car almost every time I drove it. Adrien at this Kwik Kar location spent a few days going over every inch of the car to find the issues, eventually finding a faulty automatic door lock mechanism in the driver's door causing the electric leeching leading to the dead batteries. He also did an oil change, air filter swap (they were so dirty...), got a new battery, ordered 2 more tires for my bald front ones, hooked it up to the A/C machine to diagnose. All repairs authorized and made were done quickly & was able to drive away with no dashboard lights, a car that started on the first try, and generally driving better after the TLC he put into it. Thanks to Adrien and Saul (manager) for helping get my car back to me quickly and working better than it has for years
This is by far the best shop I've ever been to for repair services. The shop is very clean and organized. The staff is amazing and very professional. The greatest thing about going here is the prices. These are the most reasonable prices I've seen at a repair shop anywhere.
Went in for an oil change Excellent customer service and amazing & helpful staff and very clean shop 👍👍
I am beyond impressed with the outstanding service I received at Kwik Kar Auto Care Center. My car had a complex issue that stumped several other mechanics, including some very experienced friends of mine. However, the skilled team at Kwik Kar Auto Care Center diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than two hours—and all for a very reasonable price! Their expertise, efficiency, and dedication are truly unparalleled. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with professionalism and genuine care. The mechanics demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skill, ensuring that my car was back on the road in no time. I am incredibly grateful for the excellent work they did and the peace of mind they provided. I wholeheartedly recommend Kwik Kar Auto Care Center to anyone in need of reliable and top-notch automotive repair services. They are, without a doubt, the best of the best. Thank you so much for all you've done! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100000% Recommend!
Kwik Kar gave me a written quote for both control arms, completed only one, then wanted $600+ more to finish the job! I had a very disappointing experience with the Kwik Kar on Skillman Street, and I do not recommend this location. On Friday, they quoted me $237.18 to replace both rear lower control arms. It took them about 20 minutes to give me that quote, I confirmed the amount multiple times, and they even put it in writing. I was also told the job would take around two hours. After they started, everything changed. They said the job was more complicated than expected and later admitted the original quote was calculated wrong and that it was 100% their fault. Then they told me the new price to replace both control arms would be over $1,000! They only completed one side, still charged me the full $237.18, and told me I would need to pay an additional $600+ minimum if I wanted them to finish the other side. They also gave me a quote for over $2,800 in additional work, including a “ride height lever” job totaling $799.05. The part alone was listed at $540, even though I found the same type of part for my Jaguar XJ8 listed online for under $50. On top of that, they knew my vehicle has spring struts now instead of the factory air shocks, so that part is no longer needed for this vehicle anyway. That made the additional quote feel extremely questionable! I was given a written quote, confirmed it multiple times, got only half the work completed, and was then told I needed to pay hundreds more to finish the original job. Poor communication, poor quoting, and poor customer service. I would not recommend this Kwik Kar location.
I took it there for fuel injector leak. I end up having to send over $900+ on guessing parts. It’s jerking while driving and sitting still. All the oil has leaked out of the truck. I bought part s that I didn’t need. After that, problems still going on. As you can see that they didn’t plug the hose properly. One of the mechanics (Chris) that was working on my truck, blocked my number! I wouldn’t recommend this place for major work, only oil changes and basics.
Now that my anger has ceased (months later as this was in November) I’m ready to write a review. Was able to drive my car to the shop and had to get it towed home? I came into the shop with a 2003 Mazda 6. I told the I wanted them to replace the wiring connecting my battery and alternator. I told them that plain and square. They insisted that they rather do a diagnostics and then decided to replace the alternator itself (I had a warranty with autozone so all is good). After doing so they put black tape over the wiring i initially asked them to replace and the problem was actually worse. They charged me twenty in resources and over two-hundred in labor?! What resources if you didn’t replace the wiring I asked you to replace and I brought my own alternator? I had a mechanic replace the wiring today and my car is running just fine. Spent nearly six-hundred dollars for something I knew wasn’t the problem. Wouldn’t trust them with an oil change honestly.
**UPDATE 11/14 - the owner seems to have responded to this review but that's the only interaction I've had with him. The "mechanic" that I initially dealt with called me and left a message letting me know they would refund my groupon - acting as it was some grand gesture. No service was done. It absolutely should have been refunded. In my opinion, they should have reimbursed me the cost of the oil change I paid for at the other location as well. I did call and speak to the "mechanic" and he displayed absolutely NO accountability. He told me that he wasn't sure what the glue like substance that he saw was. Although initially, he was adamant that it was super glue and I just HAD to purchase an oil pan because my car was damaged. He also told me that he was afraid to touch my car because of the multiple locations I've taken my car to in order to get oil changes. Ultimately, the conversation went nowhere. He accepted no responsibility and never apologized. What would have happened if I had of been someone that was naive and listened to him regarding the oil pan. He would have made a large sale and gotten over on somebody... I am NOT happy with this situation. However, I have now found my go-to for car maintenance and repairs. The guys over at Kwik Kar on Audelia and upfront, honest and genuinely nice people. Do yourself a favor of you live in the area... drive a couple miles more and take your car there. 😊** I purchased a groupon for an oil change at this location. I went in and the gentleman helping me told me that the groupon I purchased was for the wrong type of oil change but that he would still do it and charge me the difference. He pulled my car in and came back to me in less than 5 minutes asking "do you want the good news or the bad news?"... ultimately, he told me that the previous shop I went to for an oil change (a Kwik Kar CORPORATE location) had super glued some parts together while doing my oil change. He told me he would still do the oil change but it would require me buying a new oil pan (almost $600). He was kind enough to let me know that they were able to offer financing if I couldn't afford to pay for it all at once. In shock, I called my boyfriend, and he suggested taking to the previous shop and seeing what they say. So that's what I did. Long story short, NOTHING was super glued together. The previous location was able to access everything with ease and complete my oil change. So, now I'm out the $ for the groupon because the person helping me at the original location redeemed my groupon prior to starting the work. I guess the employee didn't feel like doing any work or maybe he was trying to make some sort of commission?? Either way, I won't be visiting this location again. What shady business practices. I hope the owner reads this and is aware of what's going on in their shop.
