About Ohio E-Check

This Richmond Road-area E-Check site (Willowick/Highland Heights corridor) runs five-minute waits on Monday evenings with two workers keeping the line moving. Years-long regulars describe it as quick and easy, and the license plate sticker kiosk saves the BMV trip.

Finding the entrance confuses first-timers - the signage from Richmond Road gets called out as terrible, so study the driveway before you go. One reviewer steers people away from the self-service scanner here when it's flaky; the staffed lanes are the reliable path. Ohio's test is free. Rated 4.4 across 660+ reviews.

Honestly a wonderfully fine experience for an E-check. Waited maybe 5 minutes to pull up to the garage door and maybe another 5 to get through the checks inside, and there were a good 10-12 cars there. The location is not hard to find- yes it’s through a wooded area but when you turn onto Metro at the end of the short street there is a small sign noting the station is down that way. Both gentlemen who helped me today were polite. Older gentleman even helped to hand me my seatbelt when I got back in the car! Sweet small gesture I thought about during the day ☺️

Signage from Richmond Rd stinks. I pulled into the crumbling parking lot, turned around, then drove around before trying the same driveway. Why isn't there a big sign? But, the man who processed my car was kind and thorough.

I went in Monday night around 5:15 pm for an e-check and was pleased to find no line and two friendly, efficient workers with good service (even with it being cold outside and within one hour of closing). The one gentleman was practically inside my fussy Mini Cooper to try and find the OBD sensor and was a great sport about it, even pulling out a flashlight and getting on his knees on the cold pavement. The service ended within 10 minutes and I was promptly on my way. The only thing of note is that this location is a bit difficult to find, but I did remember the drive back in the woodsy area from my last time here a few years ago :). Would recommend this location for the pleasant and quick service!

I needed to get my license plate stickers for vehicles. 1 kiosk available . There was no wait when I went. A bit disappointed that the kiosk is only available when the E-Check station is open. Relatively easy and quick. Beats going to the BMV anytime.

The Best. “Folks don’t bother with self service checks, a lot of times scanner is not working and if you put in manual VIN, it wont give you the final test results.” I go at this metro toad site, and it looks like a road through a forest going nowhere but trust me, you will get there… service providers are quiet and efficient. Things get done fast and then you can go inside the building on your left as you come out of the eCheck stalls. There is an auto-registration machine inside that not only does registration but also prints stickers for you in the realtime. They charge a credit card fee, but who cares. The convenience of it all is amazing. They need to put more of these around Cleveland region!

Waited way to long! As always I managed to get in the wrong lane. The women who ran this lane was a hot mess and tried doing 3 cars in the bay at once. She walked at a snails pace in between like she had all the time in the world. While the gentleman working in the next bay took one car and had them in and out within minutes! Awful experience and next time I'll head to another e-check location !

Early this morning I unfortunately went to this location to be treated extremely poorly by an old black woman. I waited at the stop sign for a minute but saw no signs of life anywhere so I pulled up more. She then comes out of hiding to reprimand me for not following directions and states she watched me the whole time. Why were you watching instead of doing your job? She had an few choice words for me and I went to lost nation location instead. Guys there were wonderful and efficient. Don't waste your time a this place.

Came in recently for the fifth time this year. Prior to this last visit all the attendants have been wonderful and have given me great advice. They answered all my questions. But my most recent visit was not that way. Shortly after pulling up asked "Dave" a simple question before getting started with my e-check, without hesitation "Dave" started to mumble incoherently and flew off the handles by my simple question. Later on in the visit, I was in the office talking to "Dave" and another associate i believe named "Wanda". I'm not sure if "Dave" is typical inebriated, or had a stroke recently, or it's just his mind is declining from old age. He slurred his words and kept screaming as if he couldn't tell how loud he was being. After he asked what my problem was, and I told him it was him he became completely incensed. If the way I understood it "Dave" was the manager at this location, if that is the case. They in my opinion need to make a big structural change, as "Dave" is unfit for the role that he was given. This was a terrible experience, and I am hesitant to come back as the associates were unhelpful and rude.

The customer service associate was very rude to me. Talked to me as if I should know the answer to my question and as if I were stupid. I won't go back to this location.
