About Shimon's Service Station
Shimon's Service Station (Boston area) inherited the Honda King Allston faithful when that shop retired, and holds them with orderly inspection processes and no hassle. Oil leaks get identified and solved efficiently, and in an upsell era reviewers call the honesty a rare gem.
The counter attitude draws repeated complaints - you wait in person with vague timelines, and some visits feel unwelcome. The wrenching outclasses the front desk. Massachusetts inspections. Rated 4.2 across nearly 350 reviews.

Shimon's provided wonderful, quick service! They identified the source of my oil leak, and solved it efficiently. Staff was super patient and helpful in answering my questions and helping me understand the issue and the fix. All of this for a very fair price! Will absolutely recommend to any who ask.
I was a long-time customer at Honda King in Allston. When its owner retired and closed up shop, I didn't think I'd find another mechanic as professional and trustworthy, but Shimon's is excellent. Kamel and his team take their work and your safety seriously. 100% recommend.
I've gotten my car inspected here the past several years because they have a super orderly process and never hassle me the way some other stations in the area have in the past. You park, put your car on the waitlist, wait a few minutes, and it's done. The guy who runs the shop knows his stuff when it comes to MA state inspections, and you can ask him any questions. Very good service, thank you!
Shimon’s is a rare gem. In an era where it feels like everyone is trying to upsell or overcharge, this place stands out for its honesty, fairness, and genuine care for customers. They have some of the best prices around, and their team is always kind, helpful, and fast, whether you are fueling up or getting a repair. After years of coming here, we are now on a first name basis with the crew, but even from day one they treated us like family. It is the kind of place that reminds you what good local business should feel like… trustworthy, efficient, and grounded in integrity.
Really rude and bad attitude. Like many others have written, they demand that you wait in person while giving you meaningless wait times for when your turn is up. The times keep getting pushed further and further and you have no idea when your turn is actually up. You're honestly better off just booking a time at a dealership since the cost of inspection is state controlled so they can't gouge you on the price.
Very rude and poor attitude and customer service from the front desk attendant. Was treated like I wasn't welcomed even though i was being nice. So many other shops you can go to that will take care of you and be happy to help you. Wouldn't recommened. Very bad experience.
I’ve been coming here for years, so this is disappointing to write. The owner was usually respectful to me in past experiences, but recently I dealt with another employee over the phone and it was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, not just from an auto shop, but from any business. The first day I called, I simply asked about availability and whether I could bring my car in. I was speaking calmly and clearly, and the person who answered immediately responded very aggressively with “What!?” He then told me the owner handles that and to call the next day. The next day, I called back and politely repeated myself, asking if there was any availability and whether I could bring my car in. The person responded rudely with “I don’t understand what you’re saying” and hung up on me. I gave it one more try a few hours later, calmly asking if I could bring my car in that day, and he rudely hung up on me again immediately. That’s not how you treat anyone, especially a longtime customer. Whoever answered the phone clearly should not be handling customer service. Because of this experience, they lost a longtime customer. I ended up going to Zone Kar in Malden instead and was treated professionally and respectfully from the beginning.
I've been taking my car here for inspection for 3 years and they do a good job but the wait times are ridiculous unless you are there before they open or you just get lucky. Usually wait 45-90 minutes before they begin your inspection and they don't allow you to leave your car and they have very limited parking. I was just straight up turned away today with a very poor attitude and customer service from the front desk attendant. I realize auto shops are not usually known for their customer service but after today I will not be back. Plenty of other shops around who manage their intakes and flow better.
Screaming at me several times I’ve gone to this gas station for gas, inspection sticker, tires. NEVER AGAIN!! MOBIL STATION by Trader Joe’s are EXTREMELY RESPECTFUL and always greet you with a smile and a friendly “Hello”. They helped me get back $670 from the Honda place who stole my money by telling me I couldn’t drive off the lot because my brakes were gone. That was a lie. Mobil on Harvard St are THE BEST!!!!!🩷
The guy at the front seemed like a very nice man, but the mechanic I talked to was a bit rude. I needed a simple tire repair and he said it’d be over an hour. When I asked if I could drop it off it was a solid and harsh “no” and he walked away. I don’t expect it to get done right away obviously but at least take my name down or something instead of having me wait in the cold. I ended up leaving.
