Amazing place! I’ve been twice now for some things that were worrying me and they’re always incredibly honest and transparent about what they inspected and found. If they truly don’t think something needs to be repaired, or if you can still get some life out of something without any safety concerns, they let you know. Absolutely will be coming back for anything in the future.

My car broke down while in Buffalo (Rochester native) and after a nightmare of trying to find the right garage that would actually fix the issue I came across Forest Auto. I would 110% recommend them to anyone in the area, I felt completely comfortable as a woman who doesn’t know a single thing about cars they were so respectful and explained things I didn’t really understand so that everyone was on the same page. My car I think is running better than when I initially bought it, I am so happy with the work done to repair my car.

Forest Auto is always the place I go to when I need car repairs, inspection, oil change, anything. They are honest, fair, respectful, friendly, and hard working. You are never pressured into any services you don’t need and they are extremely transparent with repair needs and costs. They really care about their customers and the repairs that they do.

The best mechanic I’ve ever had EVER! Super affordable, kind and just good guys. 9/10 you’re going to pay UNDER what the estimate is. They are always honest and understanding. They have made me a life long customer.

Cool guys! I will be going here for all my future car work. I always get nervous with mechanics after a previous bad experience but after hearing so many great things about this place decided to check them out. They were super patient with me having to reschedule maintenance multiple times due to work. When I finally did get the chance to bring my car in they were super nice. Not only are they super nice, but they’re also knowledgeable and honest. Dave told me straight up the work I would need done to the car wouldn’t be worth it and it doesn’t guarantee it would run longer based on how old and how much was wrong with it. He told me everything that was wrong with the car and quoted me the amount I would be putting in if I chose to get those things. Although it’s the end of road for my baby, I’m appreciative that I didn’t spend thousands of dollars getting work that wouldn’t have even promised me another year. Thank you guys so much!!!

Took my car in fearing the brakes were an issue. Post vehicle inspection the team was incredibly honest, informative and recommended NOT changing them out as they were safe, preformed well and still had good life in them. I never once felt like I was being sold on something and felt secure in trusting them with MY safety. They also preformed the state required vehicle safety and emissions test, further solidify the safety of my car. HIGHLY recommend this shop/team, and will return with further car needs!

Honest guys who care more about giving you the best service + price than profiting off you. Final price was quite a bit lower than original quote. Ensured I understood what was happening and checked if I had any questions at pickup. Will not be taking my car anywhere else now and you shouldn’t either.

I’ve spent 30 years in the service industry. Doing a good job is what we’re paid to do—it's how we handle things when they go wrong that reveals who we really are. My 17-year-old daughter picked up her car from Forest Auto and drove 4 minutes to Lexington Co-op. When she came out, the car was completely dead—no power on the dash. I called Forest Auto and asked for help. Matt told me to call a tow truck. That was it. I explained my daughter was stranded a mile away and asked if someone could check that it wasn’t something simple, like a loose battery cable. He refused. Only after I raised my voice did he agree to go. In a weird twist, she called me minutes later to say the car just “came to life.” She drove it back to the shop, they did something, and the car’s been fine all summer. I assumed things were resolved. Today, I brought my truck in for an inspection and was told they were “surprised” to see me. When I said I thought we were good, the reply was, “We’re not. You should find someplace else.” Fair enough. That makes two chances, two fails. I’ll take my business elsewhere—and I hope this helps someone else decide whether to bring theirs here. Edit: Matt is right about it being the bank, it was not the Co-Op. I misspoke. Edit: He absolutely did not offer to pay for the tow truck under any circumstances.
