Tim is awesome! I'm going to start using this place for my maintenance needs? Highly recommend!
It is incredibly rare to find a mechanic shop that combines top-tier technical expertise with absolute honesty, but this place does exactly that. I brought multiple of my cars in for an issue that another shop misdiagnosed, and the team here found the real problem immediately.Instead of trying to upsell me on unnecessary parts, they walked me through the exact repairs needed, explained the breakdown of the costs, and gave me a fair, upfront estimate before doing any work. They finished the job ahead of schedule, and my car is running smoother than ever.
Gone here twice, they do good work and charge fair rates. Highly recommend.
Tim was fast and efficient. Good sense of humor and a chill dude. Would def recommend for any quick car needs!
I just happened to stop here for my NC inspection because I heard I could be in and out with no appointment. That was definitely true. I am in the service and hospitality industry so I know what good customer service is and I have to say Tim does a phenomenal job of delivering a that! I stopped for just an inspection, but after I drove off ended up swinging right back around to get my oil changed by Tim ad well. I have found it difficult to find a good and honest auto shop around the area. You never know if you can trust what they tell you about things needing to be done or even if it’s going to get done correctly. I feel like that’s something you don’t have to worry about coming to the Pit Stop and using Tim. I was very impressed as I read the reviews sitting and waiting for my inspection to be done. A lot of very good and positive ones about this place and Tim himself. I must say they are accurate and I would recommend this place to anyone needing work on their car that’s looking for a trustworthy shop!!
I brought my 2002 Jeep Wrangler to Pit Stop Express in Cary to get my rear axle fixed, mainly. I also had some other minor issues with my car, but for the most part I needed help either repairing the rear axle that I had, or possibly just getting a new one altogether for my car. I have some basic mechanic skills, but nowhere near enough to do what was required to repair my vehicle, but Tim reassured me throughout the entire process that he would help me out as much as possible regardless of what needed to be done to fix the car, and I gotta say Tim really did go above and beyond to help me out. Most other mechanics would have made me pay nearly $2,000 for a new rear axle to replace my old one, and that’s just for the part, not including cost of labor. But Tim isn’t like most mechanics. He worked with me to figure out another way to resolve the issue. He was willing to allow me to source a rear axle from Facebook Marketplace, in the hopes that it could replace my old one. Tim tried using the axle that I brought him, but the axle was not in good enough condition to be put in the car in its own. I was convinced that I would have to buy an entirely new rear axle at this point, but luckily Tim was able to use the parts from the axle that I had brought him, along with parts of my old rear axle that were not damaged, to then build me a replacement rear axle. I honestly didn’t realize how much time and effort it takes to rebuild an axle, let alone taking 2 broken axles and then turning them into 1 working axle. I don’t know how he did it, but Tim was able to do it. I don’t think there’s another mechanic out there who would have been willing to put in so much extra time and effort just to help me out. Tim didn’t need to use anything from the axle that I had brought him if he didn’t want to, but I’m grateful that he did, and that he was able to figure out a way to make it all work. Not only did Tim completely rebuild me a rear axle for my Jeep, he also put on all new tires that I brought to the shop, inspected my car, and worked out all of the other little kinks that I had forgotten to mention in lieu of the main problem with the axle, and all of that ended up costing less than what a brand new rear axle ALONE would have cost me. I couldn’t believe it. Tim not only fixed everything that was wrong with my car, but he also went above and beyond to make it so that I didn’t have to spend anywhere near what I thought it would cost to do everything. I hope this review can serve as a small token of my respect and the gratitude that I feel for Tim at Pit Stop. I sincerely hope that I never have to bring my car back to him again because of course that would mean that it needs to be repaired…. again, but it does bring me peace of mind knowing that if anything ever does happen to my car again, that it will be in good hands at Pit Stop Express with Tim.
Tim is very fair, Knowledgeable and kind. I have been bringing my cars to him for years and he has always taken good care of them. His prices are very reasonable and he also provides quick service. Thanks to Tim and Pit Stop for getting my car running again!
Tim is great and super easy to work with. My wife's family has lived in Cary for over 20 years and this is their only mechanic. I like how quick and affordable they are. Honest mechanic that is not going to rip you off or over charge. Great workmanship and always friendly. When I would bring them old beater cars and trucks, Tim would always try to get me back on the road for the least amount of money and work possible. Best mechanic I know in the area!
I paid almost 700 dollars for a catalytic converter to be replaced just for that not to be the one to be replaced. I went somewhere else to get the real issue fixed. Spent a lot of money. They told me the catalytic converter they fixed was back clogged so basically I spent all the money I did here for no reason.
