About SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service
The North Charleston SpeeDee has a following, and the reviews read like a neighborhood shop: Stevie walks up before you're out of the car with an affordable quote, Carol keeps the waiting area clean and customers loyal, and one technician let a post-graveyard-shift customer sleep in the lobby and offered a blanket. European car owners say the crew handles their vehicles without the dealer runaround.
Beyond oil changes they handle brakes and hoses - one customer limped in after a freeze cracked a line and drove out fixed. South Carolina has no statewide emissions test, so this is a safety-inspection and service stop rather than a smog station. Rated 4.8 across 2,200+ reviews.

I love this place immediately when I got out the car Stevie walked up to me and asked me what I needed serviced today he told me the quote it was affordable he got to work! He said it would take an hour and I was fine with that I needed brakes and Rotors. I went inside and was then assisted by Carol she’s a sweet heart she offered snacks as a waited and we talked for a bit then the appointment was over. It was a great experience for my FIRST time and it wasn’t too pricey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
love love love SpeeDee (specifically the North Charleston location). All the staff is nice, thorough, and efficient. My car is European manufactured so SpeeDee is the only reliable place in Charleston that’s guaranteed to carry my oil. If they need to get a filter for my car they don’t turn me away & tell me to come back they go out and find one for me then & there!! They most definitely put the customers first. They also do a thorough check to tell you what your car needs/is due for. However, they don’t try and push sell you they just let you know and you can move from there. Very different from almost all auto shops ever. Also ADORE Carol!! She keeps the waiting room lively & comfortable. She’ll always check in and see if you need water or coffee. She’s a great conversationalist so it doesn’t feel like you’re in a waiting room just sitting around. As a woman I know we can dread auto shops but SpeedDee is always a great experience.
Carol was an amazing help at the desk. When I came in she was sanitizing and cleaning the waiting area which made the area clean and comfortable. When it came to checkout, it was an easy process because of her and she was just very respectful and kind to the customers. I was very thankful I used this Speedee. The staff were very respectful and responsive.
I had a great experience today at Speedee. I had no brakes. My hose went bad after the freezing weather and I loss fluid. I went to Speedee to have it looked at, because I was just there the Saturday prior for an oil change and I had a good experience then as well. Carol who works at the register was very helpful and nice. Steven and Dwayne the manager treated me with so much respect and was concerned for my safety. They explained everything that they were doing to me which made me feel comfortable and confident. I would recommend Speedee at Northwoods Blvd., in North Charleston.
Stopped in for an oil change and tire rotation. Got me in right away. Met Carol at the desk inside who was very friendly and helpful. Even got me a bottled water while I waited in the A/C controlled waiting area. Thank you!
Carol was amazing and made my day! The whole staff always has a smile on their fave and ready to help with anything needed! This location SPECIFICALLY has the best customer service in the Charleston area and is very trustworthy.
Service was quick and efficient. I was fresh off a graveyard shift and they didn't even wake me in the lobby. Even offered a blanket(seriously). Can't get any better than that LOL
Steven, Robert, and Carly provided quick and efficient service to my car. I’m not actually from South Carolina so being able to stop in to get quality service was such a great feeling. I was able to get in and out quickly. They were also very knowledgeable and could answer the questions that I had about my vehicle. Thank you all!
Call me Holden. Some time ago, nevermind exactly when, I found myself many thousands of miles overdue for an oil change. Providence and the fates had it that I received a coupon for $25 off an oil change service from this place in the mail. A fortuitous venture, thought I, as I pulled in, wondering if I would get scammed as I had the last place I went to. Not so! Carol and everyone else there did me right, giving me the proper oil at a fair price (after the coupon), and recommending other maintenance that I will admit are much needed. The waiting room had magazines and board games for those inclined, but I was much more entertained by the general scenery of the room itself. You can tell they love their job.
Update: The owner of this location and I had a conversation and he agreed to pay for the repair at the dealership. I would like to praise tbis man for this, because I dont think many business owners would do this. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my issues and making sure they were taken care of. I appreciate this to the highest If I could leave a negative review of this place i would. I took my car there for a simple bearing. My ABS system light and traction control light came on and I have heard every excuse they could give. They told me the ladt visit, it was a code only Ford could clear. Called Ford. They informed me there is no such thing. They dont have the right equipment to do this repair. When ford called me and told me the issue. I called the manager. He didnt want to hear what I had to say. They took the sensors and twisted them together. Literally twisted them. Their manager told me all ford was trying to do is up sale me. They also told me the brake job I had done prior to tjis was bad. Charged me $1307 for work they messed up. Told me my car was safe to drive when it was not. Their manager stood right there and let Steven feed me a line a BS and didnt even step in. This matter will be continued . Photo 1 is where they twisted them together. Photo 2 is where it was repaired ($600) the proper way. Beware!!!!!
