About Sticker Station
This second Sticker Station location (Portland, Maine area) has a kind, positive owner when inspections pass - even comforting the person ahead of you who failed.
The fail path is where it sours: cited items the dealership couldn't confirm, small-things estimates that grow into big lists, grime on a '97 truck read as failures, and 3500-series trucks effectively unwelcome despite the first-come-first-serve answer on the phone. Bring an older truck elsewhere. Maine inspection stickers. Rated 3.5 across 95 reviews.

Easy to work with! If you want no nonsense come here, I’m not sure what the negative reviews are talking about. Great staff.
Best place to go for a sticker, no gimmicks, friendly service, and fast.
I started my morning walking in for an inspection sticker here. The person ahead of me failed their inspection and the owner was extremely kind and positive while explaining and supporting this customer and just making sure that they can safely drive. I passed my inspection and was out of there very quickly. I also learned that this business has been passed on for generations…something special that is becoming less and less common these days.
1 out of the 3 things they cited me for failed at the dealership. They also didn't notice an issue that the dealership took care of for FREE due to the warranty, something this station didn't mention. This location also said the flex pipe was heavily rusted, the dealership said it was fine. Can't wait to read the shops response, based off other reviews :)
Asked for a sticker inspection and a tech just tapped a sign that said lunch break til 1 - at 11am. Wish my job paid for a 2 hour lunch break. Go elsewhere.
Went for a sticker. Failed which is whatever. Owner tells me it’s just a few small things. Starts off with a few lights, ball joint, and brakes. All pretty small. But then tells me my bed frame is rusted out….. I asked to show me and he refused. Just small stuff… I obviously was very distraught. I left in a big mood and called the shop on the way home and apologized for my behavior. The owner and I talked for a bit and he even offered to help if I needed it. I got the work done on my own and this morning went back to the shop. the owner pulled in at 7 am and he walked up to me shaking like he saw a ghost and Informed me I am band from the Biddeford and Sanford station now….. like why not just tell me when I called that day? Thought I wouldn’t show my face? Person that was supposed to buy the truck after the sticker got a quote for 2500 just for brakes and ball joint…. Without even touching the bed… All I know is that mechanics need to stop beating around the bush and telling people that things aren’t too bad when you have $5000 in Mechanic work at a Real shop. But expecting a great attitude. I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m starting to get sick of this world. And done closing my mouth.
I called and was told it’s first come first serve basis. He didn’t say, “hey if you have a newer truck that is a 3500 truck don’t come. Took an hour round trip. When I got there the technician said my truck won’t fit on the lift and plus it wasn’t worth 12.50 to bring a new truck in put the ware and tear on his lift. I got upset because he basically said it won’t fit but his truck does fit and he has the same exact truck that I have. . So I felt like he lied to me and didn’t want to take the time because he new there wasn’t going to be any other work to do on my new truck. The guy just had an attitude and acted like he didn’t want to be bothered with it.
Went for a sticker not to long ago it failed for a bunch of stuff the truck is a 1997 it’s got build up of grime which is a lot of what they where seeing they said there’s a fuel leak but the lines are new and where they found the “leak” I drilled a hole in the bed for the water to drain out and I was pretty much told oh well and they said they smelt fuel but the truck wasn’t running at 100% and that’s what they where smelling I will never go back there customer service also sucks
Not the same place compared to when Jim owned it. I’m not going to go into detail on why I gave it this rating but o will say the treatment was terrible when I went in (June 2025).
Had a really poor experience here. Owner “Mike” was not easy to deal with. Their in the business to fail your vehicle for anything they can and not be lenient or flexible like make an adjustment or doing something that would rake a few moments of work to allow for the vehicle to pass inspection . This place is worse than the chains that offer a free sticker so they can pick your car apart! They will charge you and fail you for anything they can. Potential customers beware! 🤨 Owner was rude to my friend then denied the whole situation when confronted. Shady place! When your business is strictly inspecting and customer service but you’ve become greedy and overly focused on pass / fail and not helping people and accommodating their needs you have lost sight of everything that matters. I hope the $12.50 you charge is worth the numerous bad reviews you will continue to receive. Good luck Maine Sticker Station owner “Mike” who doesn’t feel as though he needs to share his last name.
