Customer Reviews
I had a flat tire and stopped by this shop, and they fixed it for me right away — and didn’t even charge me. I was honestly so surprised. Everyone was incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful. You can really tell they care about their customers, not just the business. Because of this experience, I’ll definitely be coming back here for anything related to my tires, and I’ll be recommending this place to my friends too. Truly appreciate the kindness — thank you again!
First time coming here for an oil change. I was surprised when they said it would take 90 min even though I had an appointment. However, the shop is in a great neighborhood so I had a lovely walk, coffee and shop. Time went by quickly and they finished a bit earlier. The best part is they didn’t pressure me to buy or fix more things like most shops do. As a woman I’m always nervous I’ll be taken advantage of so I appreciated they just did the oil change and sent me a report with their recommendations so I didn’t haven’t to decide on the spot. Great customer service and I’ll definitely be doing my oil changes here from now on!
I had a great experience with Sun Auto Tire and Service. The staff was very friendly. I was kept up to date on the progress in a timely fashion. My work was completed without issue in a timely fashion. And the price was great. I had gotten quotes for tires from another company that I have used for many years and they beat the cost by over 33%. Very happy to have used them.
I needed to get new tires on my car before leaving town for the holidays, unexpectedly. No one else in town was able tires that fit my car, except for these guys. I scheduled the appointment the night before and by the next evening, I had the tires on my car. They were very friendly too.
These folks are great! First time using Sun and entrusting my pride and joy which needed extensive repairs. I chose Sun after getting the run around from Ford dealer and too many headaches trying to schedule an appointment with other local shops. I wanted specific things done as I do most of my own maintenance. Things that done fit into convenient check boxes. Appointment scheduling was simple, drop off easy, and the shop exceeded my high expectations. Highly recommend them.
I came in to get my coolant flushed- Kody was super knowledgeable and friendly and he noticed that my brake fluid should be flushed since I was overdue which was super helpful! Also, a fuse in my heating element blew and they were able to take care of that while I was there. I recommend this team and will be going back for future updates on my car!
I had my front tires replaced at Sun Auto. Staff is generally friendly and price was reasonable. Result was fine, getting there was very frustrating. Called ahead and explained my need for new tires for my car. They said they had a couple in stock and could fit me in that day. I dropped the car off to a promise of 'we'll call you when we do an evaluation and finalize the scope of work'. Heard nothing. Called them only to hear that they couldn't find 1 of the tires the system said they had in stock. So no work could be done on my car that day. Trekked back to the shop and agreed to have the tires ordered for the next week. Left frustrated at the time wasted , poor communication about the situation, and lack of apology or offer to make things better. Showed up the next week and no tires had been ordered. Something about the system having outdated tire information. Confirmed the order went through correctly and the tires would be there for install the following day. Got an apology this time at least even though it was still a very frustrating experience. The third time I showed up everything finally went smoothly. If the staff here knows the system they're using causes these sorts of problems, perhaps they should consider double-checking things.
Was told over the phone that an alignment would be $90, got there and the price was $150 because I have "modified suspension". My 07 Tacoma has struts from a different year Tacoma, that's it, everything else is bone stock under there. I understand that some vehicles with modified suspension can have a harder time taking an alignment and they might have to try twice, but all I needed was a toe check and to have my steering wheel straightened. Easy easy job on any car. Ended up walking out on principle. If they'd quoted me $150 over the phone I'd happily paid them. Never make a price decision at an auto shop, so many are trained to nickel and dime you, if you start to cave at all they will just keep going with it.
Overpriced, incompetent, liars! They left my vehicle in worse condition than when I brought it in. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I brought my Honda CRX in to have it serviced as I was having issues with my distributor. I told them this when I brought it in but it still took them two days to diagnose the issue, they also convinced me that I needed a new brake master cylinder despite my brakes working fine when I brought it in, I authorized this repair which was a big mistake, as when I got my car back the brakes no longer functioned, causing me to almost crash and injure myself. The car was in their own words "scary to drive". Why they returned it to me in this unsafe condition I have no idea. They tried to say the car was like that when I brought it in despite this being my daily driver. After bringing the vehicle back to fix their shoddy work, they then claimed that I needed a new brake booster which they said would be another $900, even though this part only cost about $100. I took it in to another auto shop for a second opinion, only to find out that my brake booster was completely fine, and the unsafe braking condition was due to the defective brake master cylinder that they installed. After the other shop replaced the defective brake master cylinder installed by Sun Auto, for a much cheaper price, safe braking function was restored to the vehicle. They wanted to charge me more money for a part that did not need to be replaced and refused to fix their mistakes. Here is a letter of second opinion showing that the unsafe braking condition was solely caused by the defective part that they installed. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
I have been going to Sun Auto and Tire for all my tire needs for years. While certainly not low cost, they had done a good job. Since before the business sold and the name was changed. I hit a curb pretty hard and the sidewall of my tire was destroyed, so I needed a new tire. I had the car towed to Sun Auto and Tire. I told them what happened and asked for the same tire that was on the vehicle. The tire was not available anymore I found out later, they put a newer version of the tire but they did not tell me which wasn't the end of the world. I had told them I expected that I would at the least need an alignment which they said they charged $140 for and they said I should drive it and see how it goes first. What was problematic as I immediately realized that it was badly screwed as I drove it home. So screwed up that I had to hold the wheel at between 9 and 10 o'clock for the car to go straight. Now there is no way you would not have noticed this even driving the car from the lifts to the lot, it was really bad. Next morning I called back and they said bring it in, which I did. At the counter, they told me the alignment was $240 "because my car is an EV and it is heavy." Now this is complete bullshit. I called Les Schwab and Firestone and neither charge more for an EV. Mind you my car weighs less than a Ford F350. I found these things out later but I just wanted my car fixed so I agreed. Later that day I get a call saying the car can't be aligned because it needed suspension work. I got hit with a $4500 bill to get the work done. Needless to say I passed and took it to a friend of mine who quoted me $1800 for the same work. Needless to say, this left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not think this is an honest tire shop and they are going to try to take you to the cleaners with dishonest pricing. I can only imagine how much their markup is on tire and everything else they sell. Find another shop, one that will not attempt to bend you over a barrel.
