About BLVD Autoworks
BLVD Autoworks in Minneapolis has customers going back to the shop's first owner in the 1980s, and the current crew keeps the standard: a 2016 CR-V's hard-start issue got a proper listen-and-inspect before any repair, wheel-fitment questions get verified before you buy, and free loaner cars come standard. Warranty-covered issues they find get fixed as found, not invoiced.
Price-check the big jobs - one quote came in four times higher than a competitor, and a tire install skipped the valve stems. Minnesota has no emissions testing. Rated 4.9 across nearly 620 reviews.
Reported smog check price: $125.00. Prices can change; call to confirm.
Customer Reviews
I had my car repaired here a while back, almost a decade back and I believe I had a great experience. They didn’t disappoint me this time either. Even though I don’t know much about cars, but I believe they were honest with their explanation and the pricing. My gut feeling made me believe I could trust them. I usually like to shop around hoping to get a better deal but I didn’t do this time and I don’t regret it. So far, my car is working great and I will definitely go back there again if I have any other issues with my car..
I recently brought my 2016 Honda CR-V to BLVD Autoworks because of a hard-start issue. The team took the time to listen to my concerns, inspect the vehicle, and explain what they found. What I appreciated most was that they provided photos, walked me through the findings, and answered my questions. I didn’t necessarily like the diagnosis, but I felt they were honest, professional, and straightforward with me. I’m still considering my options, but I appreciate the time, communication, and thoroughness of Andrew, the technician, and the BLVD team.
I've been utilizing the services of BLVD Autoworks from the time of the first owner, back in the 1980's. Their incredibly personable demeanor to all the customers is matched by excellent care in taking care of my car. Also, since I have an older car that things come up for, they always help find a way to structure the service so I can better manage costs. They don't even blink an eye, so to speak, when I tell them I always check other service locations to compare pricing. If different they always graciously explain the differences and usually it comes to the dealer, or other service provider, really increasing the prices on basic services. I would greatly encourage anyone to give them a try and see what it's like, especially in this day and age, to be treated with the greatest care and respect.
I worked with the employees at Blvd Autoworls to verify the size of new wheels I wanted to purchase. They did great work and took the time to make sure the new wheels and tires were secured properly. I had them inspect my car during a grace period to make sure it was in good shape.
The best shop I have ever worked with. The guys here are very knowledgeable and professional. Easily the best experience I have had getting a car repair. Trust me when I say this, you can trust the team at BLVD will be honest with you and get your car serviced right the first time.
Multiple times they have done excellent service on my vehicle. They provide knowledge on how I can proceed with the repair of my car in short and long term. no pressure to pay for full or even unnecessary service.
Very friendly staff. They are very prompt and communicative. Loved the free loaner car. Found additional issues that were covered under warranty and they fixed it all and dealt with the warranty company. BLVD Autoworks is the only shop i have ever enjoyed going to and left a happy customer. Will be back!
BLVD is and has been a great place to bring a vehicle for decades. I just got a routine service for my truck and everything is great! Before my service, I mentioned I thought one of my wheel bearings may be going bad and the service provider noted there was a $100 diagnostic fee. I agreed and nothing was found to be inoperable. When I got my itemized bill, there was a charge for $150 for "general safety and maintenance check". I guess had I known this was already part of my quote for the fluids and general service, I would not have paid the extra $100. I guess I now know for next time the $150 is already built into any quote. I just feel like I paid for a service "twice". At any rate, still a good place to go. Honest, fair and most important quality work. I'll still come back.
I was given a price four times higher then the next place I called which was also located in Minneapolis. I would absolutely avoid this place unless you want to pay way more than necessary. I’m honestly shocked by the good reviews.
I recently got new tires installed at Blvd Autoworkers and was disappointed to find out they didn’t replace the valve stems during the service. Replacing tire valves is a basic and expected part of getting new tires, and it’s frustrating to realize it wasn’t done—especially without any heads-up or explanation. Now I’m stuck dealing with slow leaks and an extra trip to another shop to fix what should’ve been handled the first time. Not impressed with the attention to detail, and it makes me question the quality of the rest of the work. Definitely won’t be returning.
