Columbia Self-Service Vehicle Emissions Testing Kiosk

Dream came true. Never had time to go by Emission station. I was on my way to my office and stopped by Columbia MVA and had plenty of time to be at office. Google Searched for emission station and found one 9 minutes away. The place was empty and I used the Kiosk. Hooray 🙌 done in less than 10 minutes. Great location. I recommend this 24 hours kiosk Emissions 👍❤️

Took 3 minutes. So much better than waiting in line for someone to plug in a cable.

The test was pretty quick. Smooth and efficient process. As others have said, it helps know the port where to connect the testing device cable to. It should be in the area underneath the steering wheel, near your brake/accelerator.

Took 4 minutes it was so easy, just make sure you have your registration because you have to scan the barcode, it’s cheap like $10 and they print you out a paper to keep in your car

Got here at 9:45pm on a Monday night and it only took me 2 minutes. Very simple and easy to use. After going to the machine in Beltsville that did not work, I was annoyed. I’m glad this one was simple and easy. Will use it again next time.

I tried twice to run the test on my car without success, carefully following the instructions each time. After the 2nd failed attempt, I went thru the "regular" process, where one of the workers ran the test successfully. I don't know why the self-test didn't work for me but, fortunately, there wasn't a line for the "manned test".

Well when it's working it's amazing but I made a special trip all the way over there today and it wasn't working. They were going to charge me $4 more for a person to do it. So now I hope it's working again in the next two weeks.

I tried 4 times. I've had success here before, but it is a coin toss. The whole system froze 3 times, and the final time, it didn't unfreeze. I watch 2 people ahead of me come and go easily, but not for me.

Waited 40 minutes and it gave me this screen after I entered my plate and Vin #. Didn’t even get to plug it in. No explanation as to why just that it wouldn’t work. I tried twice. All the cars in front of me had no issues. I get every car is different but offering no explanation as to why it won’t even let me try is incredibly frustrating. The idea is great, system execution needs work.

Great when it works. I can only make it out to the site between 1 and 3 AM and unfortunately the machine has been down for "maintenance" every time I've tried to use it over the last year. It's fine if the machine needs to update in the middle of the night, but the MVA shouldn't advertise it as being operational 24/7.
