About Glen Burnie Vehicle Emissions Testing Station

Maryland's Glen Burnie VEIP station handles the state emissions test quickly - under 20 minutes at 2:50pm, a self-service kiosk with no line at 6:45am, and an attendant who granted an extension to a driver whose car landed between pass and fail before a trip. Know where your OBD port is before you go.

The glitches are real: a kiosk that locks people out, a lane-3 OBD connector dispute on a BMW, and posted hours that didn't match a Saturday line. Arrive early. Rated 4.3 across 415+ reviews.

Came in last minute to do VEIP, self-kiosk would not let me do my inspection do to a glitch. Younger lady with glasses (forgot her name) got me in and did my inspection even when I was being a little argumentative trying to explain that the machine did something weird and the car was ready.

Very friendly person. He was very nice. Everything went really fast. I didn't spend not even 20 minutes here. I got there around 2:50pm

The self-service kiosk worked great. No line at 6:45am. Best to know where your emissions test plug is before you go.

Lovely experience. My car did not pass or fail. I started to worry because I had a trip coming up before my inspection expired. The attendant gave me an extension well beyond my return date! Thank you so much for making this process a little less stressful while planning for a family vacation!

I had a fantastic experience at the Glen Burnie Vehicle Emissions Testing Station! The staff was friendly, professional, and efficient, making the process quick and hassle-free. The facility was clean and well-organized, with clear instructions and minimal wait time. They handled everything smoothly, and I was in and out in no time. Highly recommend this location for anyone needing emissions testing—great service all around!

The station in glen burnie was supposed to be open until 1 pm today according to online but no it isn't. I was here at 11:30 and at 12:15 I am still 4 cars back in the self service lane. Can't even count on online info.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Glen Burnie VEIP station, Lane 3, on a Saturday morning. The OBD plug on my BMW was slightly out of position from its bracket, but it was fully functional. Instead of simply asking me to place it back into the bracket or allowing me to correct the issue, the inspector immediately failed the inspection. What was most frustrating was the lack of effort to help resolve a minor issue that could have been fixed in seconds. The manager was no better and showed no willingness to assist or provide reasonable customer service. The entire experience felt dismissive and unprofessional. I understand that inspections must follow regulations, but common sense and basic customer service should still apply. I left feeling frustrated and treated unfairly over something that could have easily been addressed on the spot.

Got to the the self service kiosk, wait my turn two people in front of me go through the whole process which only takes about 4 minutes, then the kiosk had an error message come up that said I needed to go to a real person. So I go get back in line that is huge now. It takes about 10 minutes PER CAR. How can me a person who doesn't work here get through their self-service kiosk in 4 minutes yet trained people take 10 minutes to get through a single car. Guess when you get paid by the hour it doesn't matter.

Not thrilled about the dramatic price increase. Expensive state constantly hitting everyone in the pockets for something. I honesty think the real reason for the increases is to recoup monies they can’t seem to collect from the uninsured and unregistered which is not fair. At least the self service kiosk was working and line for it went fast. In the end, it’s a giant rip off.

Personnel need training. Don't generalize every vehicle. I was told my car failed because the check engine light should stay on when the key is in the ii position. I spoke to a Honda master tech with 40 years experience. That is completely untrue. I will not be returning my car to this location. Train the employees better.
