Pete got our van in right when I called. It had several issues, all of which were fixed the same day. The office and garage are so clean! I really appreciated the timeliness, honesty and price and highly recommend. It's so hard to find a good, honest mechanic!
My experience this round was exceptional. Pete and Mike have been my mechanics of choice almost 10 yrs. Their motto “It has to be done right!” is unheard of in present times. My car had its 100k mile maintenance. It feels like it’s old self again! Thank you!

Every experience I’ve had has been smooth, professional, and stress-free. It’s hard to find an auto shop you can truly trust, but Pete’s Auto Service consistently delivers quality work and treats customers with care and respect. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure your vehicle is taken care of the right way. If you’re looking for reliable car service with outstanding customer care, I highly recommend Pete’s Auto Service to anyone in need of automotive repairs or maintenance. Thank you for always providing top-notch service!
Definitely my new go to mechanic. I wasn't pushed to get anything extra that I didn't need. He explained the repairs needed and gave me good suggestions. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a reliable mechanic. I searched for several days and saw that some folks on my Ring app recommended him. So glad I saw the post. I was definitely stressing about where I should go, especially as a woman. Pete offered great service and was so helpful. Made my experience far less stressful. Thanks Pete!
Great service! I had various issues going on with my car (battery, many oil leaks, tail light, etc) and was nervous to take it just anywhere. After hearing my aunt’s high praise of Mr. Pete’s service I decided to try it out myself. Safe to say I’m quite pleased. He took great care of my car, giving honest feedback of what I needed done immediately and what I can wait a bit on. The many repairs were done same day, at a decent price considering all I needed done, and all was handled professionally. From our interactions Mr. Pete seems to genuinely take pride in his work and takes great care of his customers. I will continue to have my car to serviced here!
This place is the best. I just found them and I’d be lost without them. I’ll never go anywhere else in Charlotte! Great work! Fair pricing. Just a really great guy! Thanks Pete!!! 🙏🥰
I have been a customer for Pete's Auto Service for many years. I have always been treated with respect and provided great service on our family's cars. The staff is professional and thorough with each service. Service is top notch and reasonably priced.
Pete was very nice from beginning to end and very courteous and professional! He gave me a detailed explanation of what was wrong and what he did to fix the problem. I will be a returning customer from now on!
I had a really great experience with Pete! He was kind and gave a fair price for services rendered. I’m happy to have found a great shop!
STAY AWAY! This place is dishonest! I spent almost $1,200 for an issue that didn’t need to be fixed because there was a much bigger issue that wasn’t told to me. I took my truck in to be looked at because it was running very rough. They performed a diagnostic and told me over the phone that there was a major oil leak and that the valve cover gasket needed replaced along with a front brake service. What I wasn’t told was that the diagnostic also indicated a P0300 code which means that there was an engine misfire detected. This was not told to me and had I known this I wouldn’t have authorized any work to be done. Another mechanic I took it to afterwards said that the engine is misfiring and basically needs a new or rebuilt engine. I paid almost $1,200 to have the valve cover gasket and brake job on a vehicle they knew had a major issue as indicated by the diagnostic but they didn’t tell me about this. The misfiring was not mentioned to me at all when I picked up the vehicle and paid. A couple days later I noticed that the truck was running very rough and took it back to the shop. They said that something was obviously wrong and we would have to pay for another diagnostic. We argued that the car was just “fixed” and we shouldn’t have to pay for a new diagnostic. They were extremely rude about it but did look at it and said that it was misfiring and we shouldn’t drive it. The P0300 code should have been a clue on the very first diagnostic that there was a misfire detected. They ignored the biggest issue and proceeded to fix the valve cover gasket and do the brake job just to get money out of me. If they had told me from the get go that there was an engine misfire it would have been pointless to perform any further work on the engine according to other mechanics that have looked at it since. This place knew there was a major engine problem but hid that info from me just get money, they basically worked on an engine that was no longer any good. As you can see in the attached pictures the original diagnostic clearly indicates an engine misfire detected but this wasn’t shown to me until the work had been completed, very suspicious.
