About Steve's Auto World of Maple Grove
Steve's Auto World in Maple Grove, outside Minneapolis, wins on value and straight talk: a $50 full synthetic oil change deal that regulars call the best in the area, and advisors like Matt and Adam who call with what's actually wrong before touching anything. Jenna and Kiwi keep the front pleasant, and out-of-towners get squeezed in same-day.
The complaints are about the car wash side of the business and one headlight job, not the core service. Minnesota has no statewide emissions test, so this is maintenance and repair. Rated 4.5 across nearly 1,200 reviews.
Customer Reviews
I've had nothing but great experiences with Steve's Auto World. ADAM is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to cars and maintenance, and he always takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why. I really appreciate how informed, honest, and professional he is. I know my car is in good hands every time I bring it in!
It’s hard to find consistent good value anywhere these days, but Steve’s in MG is one of those lucky finds. Their $50 full synthetic oil change deal is such great value. They run it all the time. It’s super easy to book an appointment online and they almost always have last minute openings to fit a busy schedule. The workers are always super nice, and don’t try to upsell a bunch of things. Plus, you get a free car wash with your service receipt. They always get my oil change done in less than their quoted hour turn around time. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Friendly, detailed, informative, transparent, and quick! Matt was my service advisor. He called promptly to tell me what was going on with my car. He was up-front about a potential overnight night fix but ended up being done that very afternoon. He was knowledgeable about their services, able to articulate my own repair issues and options, and also their policies for tire guarantees. I felt it to be a genuine experience rather than trying to take me for every dime that could be charged. The prices quotes were transparent and ended up being even a little less than originally given. What a win!
I just have to say, I came in today & had a really great unexpected experience. Friendly, pleasant, happy to help - my receipt said the employees name was Kiwi & I just want you guys to know he was awesome! Its nice to see ppl who actually enjoy their job
The service was extraordinary pleasant. I called late to get an appointment. The service manager scheduled me immediately. I’m from out of town and getting in immediately for service was very important. Service was completed efficiently and quickly. Thank you for your superior service. I definitely will return to this location whenever possible.
The good folks over there, Jenna being amazing as always, never fail to make me a satisfied customer. I was a little concerned this time around however with the communication as they’ve always reached out first, but no worries. I understand the techs are busy. Overall tho, 5 stars.
I’m new to the area and overdue for an oil change. Their online appointment setting was super easy. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. I was there early, but they got me in immediately. They were upfront on the costs before they started the service. I was pleased with my experience. I’d go back again.
The people on staff were great. I had some work done that was quoted at one price and when I went back it had doubled. The work was set up through a third party vendor and all of the relevant information was shared. Both Steve's and the third party vendor said it wasn't their fault and no one was willing to reimburse the difference which was double the cost.
The worst car wash imaginable. Unwashed areas on all four sides of the car. I understand it would be a miracle if anyone even responded to my review — and an even bigger miracle if they offered to wash my car again.
I recently had a very disappointing experience at Steve's Auto World in Maple Grove. I took my car in to have the headlight assembly replaced and specifically requested that they save the old part for me. Upon picking up my car, the receptionist barely acknowledged me, greeting me with an uninterested "how may I help you" while looking down at his desk. I greeted him with good morning, but he didn’t respond. He pulled my information and tossed my key on his desk and immediately requested payment. When I asked if my old part was in the car, his response was simply, "I DON’T KNOW," and he seemed genuinely annoyed by my inquiry/accent. I tried to clarify, but he looked at me with a face of disgust and said, "I DON’T LIKE YOUR ACCENT; I CAN’T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING YOU’RE SAYING." I found this incredibly disrespectful. I told him I wouldn't change my accent just to accommodate his understanding. The negativity continued as I made my payment and asked where my car was parked. His answer? "I DON’T KNOW. Maybe it’s by the pump or somewhere out there." So there I was, keys in hand, trudging through negative-degree weather to find my car. To add insult to injury, the old part was not in the car, and the new headlight's daytime running light wasn’t functioning either, light on dashboard just as it was when I dropped it off, the headlight assembly was not alight properly. See attached photo. Overall, the service was unprofessional and frustrating. The way I was treated felt directly tied to my accent and background, making this experience all the more discouraging. I have never in my life witnessed someone look at others with such disgust and disrespect. I cannot recommend Steve's Auto World based on my encounter.
Not my first time being here but first time bringing my car here for an alignment. Mechanical side was great but the customer service side was awful. I was told by my service advisor Adam Buechler that my car would be done in 2 and a half hours on the higher end after dropping it off at 8am this morning and I also told him I had to be at a doctors appointment at 12:45 (waited 6 months for, dermatology). He told me my car would be done before then and I also told him I could reschedule if that time frame doesn’t work for their techs but he insisted that they could get it done before then. Fast forward 12pm and I give them a call and they’re barely working on my car. I explain the situation to the csr on the phone and all he has to say is “we will call you when it’s done” in a idgaf tone? Not even an apology. No sorry. No nothing. I understand things happen but please be transparent with your customers and treat them with respect. I also got there and the same Asian guy with glasses that talked to me was screaming at another customer on the phone. I will not be recommending this auto body shop going forward and will never bring my car here again. The girl at the front was the only nice one. The rest have to take notes from her.
