I can not remember his name but the man who was working the front desk when I brought my car in was so so helpful and nice. He was honest and fair about what I needed to fix now versus in the future. I brought my car in in the morning and it was done by early afternoon. Great experience, highly recommend.

I caught a flat on the highway on the way in to work a few months back. Called around to five different places in the neighborhood, no one was helpful at all. (I have some weird aftermarket wheels on my Jetta that have lug bolts instead of nuts and couldn't get the flat off to replace with the donut.) The guys at Nelson's had me pop over, they were able to get the tire off and gave me good advice on buying a tire iron that fits the stupid aftermarket lug bolt adapter. They were fast, kind, helpful. Absolutely saved my arse.

I brought my Subaru here to get a diagnosis and they were just great. I really appreciated the patience and kindness of the shop staff. Seriously, after finding out I need a new transmission they didn’t even charge me for the diagnosis. I’m a doc student and have 0 extra dollars to my name, made my situation a little brighter. Will definitely bring my car back to get the work done.

Best auto repair shop ever. They offer services at a very reasonable price, are honest with their work, do their work with great care, and highly value their customers. Terry was so kind and helpful as we figured out what's up with my car. Won't take my car to any other auto repair shop in the Twin Cities - these folks are it! Highly recommend!!!

I'll be fully honest, I'm extremely skeptical of getting anything done at a mechanic. I've been ripped off too many times, being told to do extra things that I know I don't need to focus on for quite a while, where I don't tend to have much cash to spare. Recently, I had an issue where I finally admitted that I had to bring it in to have someone else check it outwho obviously knows more than I do. Nelson's was the first place i could find who could take me in quickly with the age of the car that I have. I was connected with Terry, who presented me with an extensive list of issues that would require attention. This immediately set off all of the alarms in my head. But no, I was mistaken. I had a few conversations over the phone with Terry, who I explained my situation to. Terry was extremely understanding, and went above and beyond to make me feel valued and what solutions best fit my situation. He explained which parts specifically need the most attention, and the order of which I should take care of them. He lifted the car and even pointed every part out for me and told me how I should do the repair myself if I wanted to. He offered so much help and I plan on returning here for whenever I need help on my car.

This place was fantastic. We were leaving town to head home to St. Louis and had a tire issue at 4:00PM. I couldn't even get another shop to answer the phone. They picked up, got me right in and we were on the road in an hour. Fantastic service that saved us from being on the side of the road later in the night. If you live in the area I would highly recommend them!

When a sudden problem with my 2017 Santa Fe arose, Nelson's (shout out to Mark) was able to get me in, checked out and fixed up in about 24 hours. They are very friendly, considerate, and much more reasonably priced than the dealership. Thank you guys!

Terry is wonderful to work with, he is pleasant, patient, communicative and thorough. I used to go to the green garage location off of nicollet and always had a great experience, this location did not let me down either. He walked me through a list of potential issues to help me make an educated decision on how to move forward on my needed repairs. Please keep these guys in business and let them do work for you! 👌

I highly recommend Nelson's for your automotive repair and maintenance needs! Terry really took care of us way beyond the call of duty as we searched for a used car. He really went the extra mile for us! We have been bringing vehicles here for several years now since our daughter has lived in Minneapolis and they have always treated us fairly and honestly! I love Nelsons on Hennepin and will continue to trust them with maintenance on my 8 year old car. I've had 3 visits with them so far and each time I've had a positive experience based on: 1) Great customer service 2) They don't upsell me on extra parts/labor 3) They do solid work and do it quickly Not only that, but they are open about sharing professional opinions, and put me at ease without being judgemental.
